The word “gospel” translates the word meaning “good news” in the language of the New Testament.

This good news, first proclaimed by Christ and the apostles, was in contrast to the “bad news” – namely that because of man’s sinful condition he is in rebellion against God and therefore rightly under God’s condemnation and deserving eternal judgment and death in the Lake of Fire.

The good news is that God loves each person and has graciously provided a means by which someone can be forgiven, become a child of God and receive the free gift of eternal life. The invitation to receive God’s salvation – forgiveness of sin and the gift of eternal life – is open to whosoever will call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ by faith.

One must confess that they are a sinner and believe that Jesus is the Son of God, God in the flesh; believe that he died on a cross in our place, for our sins; and believe that he arose from the grave to live forevermore. Salvation is gained through faith alone – by trusting in Christ alone – not in one’s own goodness or good works.

In the moment that we trust Christ for our salvation, we are born-again; we are forgiven of all our sins … and we receive the free gift of eternal life.
In the moment that we trust Christ for our salvation, we are born-again; we are forgiven of all our sins; we are saved from eternal death in the Lake of Fire; we are adopted as children of God; we are indwelt by the Holy Spirit of God; and we receive the free gift of eternal life;

Are you saved? Do you know that your sins have been forgiven? Do you know that you have eternal life? Do you know for sure what will happen to you when you die?

If not, will you trust in the Savior today? It’s only a matter of faith – belief – trust. Prayer doesn’t save, but through a simple prayer you can tell the Lord what you believe about yourself and about Christ, that you are trusting Christ now for your salvation and ask him to save you. And based on what the Bible says, you can be absolutely confident that he will save you.
